When you are ready, you’ll set an appointment to begin treatment.
At our office, you will be greeted with friendly smiles and treated with a gentle touch during every visit. You’ll have your own personal toothbrush waiting for you, so there’s no need to feel shy about having breakfast or lunch before your visit. If you are a parent or guardian of our patient, feel free to relax in the waiting room or join the patient in the treatment area to observe and ask questions from Dr. Naficy and his assistant. At our office, we want you to have fun during each step of the way—we have a huge selection of colored rubber band so if your treatment involves rubber bands, you can match your outfit, the season, or a holiday!
Our patients become our friends. Take a moment to chat at the front desk, if you like. We try to keep up with your family’s news and fit your orthodontic treatment into your busy daily, travel, and/or vacation schedule.
Staying the Course
Unlike some quick procedures, orthodontics is a quiet, gentle movement of your natural teeth. It can take a while . . . anywhere from a few months to a few years. We’ll help you keep focused on the results awaiting you at the end of the treatment. In the meantime, it’s important that you do your part to ensure successful (and timely) results:
Keep your appointments (we ask for 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or change your appointment date, so we can offer the place to another patient.)
Stay away from problem foods that might cause your brackets to break.
Brush regularly and well. Our office will supply floss threaders to patients with braces and permanent retainers to help remove plaque and food debris from tricky areas.
Stick to your daily regimen and use your appliances regularly. Not wearing your retainer will delay the results you’re waiting for so don’t forget to use them daily!
Dr. Naficy is the director and our staff members are great supporting players, but you are the star of the show and the key player in successful orthodontic treatment. By following directions, staying the course, and being positive about the experience, you’ll make the time fly by quickly and easily.
And remember, we’re always here to help you stay comfortable, safe, and healthy throughout your entire treatment. We’re rooting for you!
The Big Day
On the big day your orthodontic treatment is completed and the braces are removed, we’ll take some more photos and compare them to the photos we took on your very first Evaluation Visit to our office. You’ll see the wonderful changes the months of good work have made for you. We celebrate joyfully with every patient on this day and wish you a lifetime of happy, healthy, comfortable smiles!
